We have developed a neuroprotective therapy that can be delivered into the eye and prevent retinal neurodegeneration based on our preclinical studies. We offer a market-disrupting and life-changing long term gene therapy solution addressing all the biological targets including those of our main competitors, while also offering durability with single dosing. Our one-time treatment should be effective for over 10 years based on clinical data from similar therapies.

Oculogenex has developed a gene therapy that can be delivered into the eye and prevent retinal neurodegeneration based on our preclinical studies. Our current focus is to use this technology to treat AMD and GA. The potential benefit to patients is that a single intraocular injection may provide long-term therapy disease control and improve vision.

About Our Therapy
Our investigational therapy is a novel ocular regenerative gene therapy product that is delivered one time into the eye with an injection. This therapy makes the retina resistant to oxidative damage and degeneration and increases the retinal lifespan. It has the potential to activate dormant stem cells in the retina to replace lost nerve cells.

The co-founder and COO are Ramaswamy Ramkumar, Ph.D. In 2021, we won 1st place at the Winning Pitch Retina Competition, were awarded an NSF SBIR Phase 1 grant, were showcased as LA's BEST biotech company, were a Gold Award Winner in the MassChallenge Boston Accelerator program, and a Winner of the CASIS Technology in Space Prize. Oculogenex is currently a finalist in the MassChallenge HealthTech 2022 program.
