I had this question pop up for the fires…

“What are the steps to use a private company to remove the debris from your property after the fire.”

Step 1. Contact a company that specializes in fire and flood restoration. (You need specific licensing to do most of the abatement)
Step 2. Choose the company you feel most comfortable with.
Step 3. Have them contact your insurance agent to get the process started.

I have over 20 years of experience in fire and flood restoration. I can write a book the size of the Bible on the ins and outs of the process. I don’t recommend navigating it alone. THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND AND NOT IN BUSINESS TO PAY OUT MONEY! I don’t charge for dealing with the insurance and helping to get everything paid for so you have zero money out of pocket. The attorneys will take %30-40 which will leave people with a short fall of cash to rebuild. I only ask to do the abatement and reconstruction!
