We’ve noticed that lately, a lot of our clients have been switching from natural palm thatch to synthetic thatch.

Natural thatch is still a great option and has that authentic tropical look, but if you’re looking for something with less maintenance and a longer lifespan, synthetic is definitely worth considering.

The synthetic thatch we use is commercial grade and comes in both fire-retardant and non-fire-retardant options. We also use a palm-style synthetic, so you still get the natural look without having to replace it as often.

Another fun project wrapped up! 🌴

This one was built right on the dock, and we used synthetic thatch so the customer gets the tropical look without having to worry about replacing natural palm every few years. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something that’s low maintenance and built to last.

We also built the stairs, railings, and gate for this project. One detail we really liked was the customer’s idea to have the railing pickets spaced closer together. They wanted a safe place where they could tie up their dog without worrying about it squeezing through the rails. We love making small custom changes like that to fit the way our customers actually use their space.

18’ x 18’ Tiki Hut with a Burned Wood Accent Wall 🔥🌴

We recently finished this 18’ x 18’ tiki hut featuring a custom burned wood wall with a polyurethane finish for extra protection and a unique look.

A lot of people think of tiki huts as just a roof, but adding a wall can make a big difference. It gives you more privacy, helps define the space, and creates a great place to hang décor, TVs, signs, shelves, or whatever you’d like.

Ever wonder if you can put a tiki hut over your jet ski lift or boat slip? The answer is absolutely yes.

The one shown here is a 12’ x 18’ tiki roof we built using the customer’s existing pilings to create a covered area for their jet skis. We framed it with pressure-treated wood for durability and longevity, then finished it with a natural palm roof.

Hi guys,

Not just tiki huts! 🌴🔥

Super excited to share this project with you all — a 12’x18’ custom tiki hut and bar! This one’s built with pressure-treated wood and topped with natural palm frond thatch.

The bar runs 12 linear feet and includes custom storage cubbies for drinks, a fridge, and more. We added foot rails, a burned-wood finish on the bar wall, and a clear seal on the bartop to make it shine. The bar is built over a set of wheels making it mobile and easy to put it where you’d like. Everything’s built for durability and to your sense of style.

Behind the bar, there’s a 6’x7’ burned wood accent wall, sealed with polyurethane for extra protection and a clean look.

I get this question all the time… can you actually put a tiki hut on a dock?

The answer is YES and it’s something we do all the time. This isn’t new for us. 🌴

We built this one right on the dock and secured it directly to the pilings using heavy-duty hardware so it’s solid and built to last. Then we finished it with a hand-cut, peeled cypress frame and natural palm thatch.
