Throwback to one of our emergency water line replacements.

This restaurant had a leaking water service last year during the winter. We were able to locate the service and confirm the location of the leak, replace 150 ft stretch with 33 feet under asphalt, and get this customer back in service.

We timed the repair to begin at 2am, right after the business closed, so that we had enough time to dig it, repair it, and get it inspected. It was important to get this all done prior to the business opening back up at 11am.

Storm damage? STOP!! If a tree or limb has fallen on an insured structure, it’s best to call in a contractor that is experienced so they can document the work from start to finish and do the job in a way that prevents further damage from occurring. It’s important to remember that without proper documentation, your insurance carrier may not cover the expense.

The crew at JWSR LLC has excavators, skid steers, bucket trucks, dump trailers, saws, and a bunch of other tools on standby for work during and after the storm.

Emergency NJDOT Job
We were called out to Newton, NJ State Route 206 by one of our top customers to handle an urgent NJDOT Emergency.

After many years of use (we’re talking decades), the riser and lid to access some underground telecommunications lines was at its failing point. The lid no longer sat flush and wobbled with every vehicle that went by.

We inspected the job with NJDOT officials and Newton Police at 8am Friday morning and by 8pm Friday night, we began the work.

The job included removing the existing asphalt, carefully removing and replacing the riser as to not damage the manhole, and repaving the area.

Upon further inspection, there were hairline cracks in the manhole that our crew prepared ahead for and brought all necessary material/supplies in the event there was a small hiccup. After applying hydraulic cement, it will now keep anymore water from seeping in and keep the telecommunications equipment dry.

A special thanks to Newton Police (NJ) for helping keep us safe while we worked.

The Forbidden Chocolate Milk Factory…

We recently completed a cable installation for a water/waste treatment center for SCMUA. The telephone wire is high priority because it controls all of the safety alarms on the pumps.

Being used is a specialized plow — the Vermeer SPX25 — for placing cable that vibrates a cut through the ground and places the cable anywhere from 12 inches to 48 inches depending on what blade and depth we set it to.

What we like most about this machine is that it is nimble, as well as the track system helps keep ground disturbance to a minimum. This machine can be used for placing conduit, direct bury cable/copper/fiber, gas lines, and even in some applications water.
