In January 2025, Radian Research welcomed Powermetrix to the family. Known for its PowerMaster handheld analyzers and meter site testing solutions, Powermetrix brings 30 years of innovation that pairs perfectly with RADIAN’s energy reference standards and meter testing systems.

Together, we’re building a stronger lineup for the utilities who count on us to protect billing integrity. Welcome to the team, Powermetrix! ⚡

⛳ Who says testing software can’t be fun?
While in Bellevue for this year’s EEI Fall TDM&MA, the RADIAN team took some time outside the conference to host a mini golf hospitality event — complete with a little friendly competition and a WATT-Net™ twist!

It was a great opportunity to step away from the conference, have some fun, and spend time with customers and industry colleagues in a more relaxed setting.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, sank a few putts, and spent the evening with the RADIAN team. Events like this are a great reminder that our industry is about more than technology — it’s also about the relationships and conversations that move us forward. 🏌️‍♂️⚡

We’re already looking forward to the next one!

A strong AMI program creates value when it improves operations and helps customers act on the data.

Oracle highlights how the City of Lubbock adopted cloud tools as part of AMI to automate account record updates and provide meter reads as frequently as every 15 minutes, giving customers insights to help lower bills and identify issues like unusual usage patterns.

At Radian Research, we’re focused on what makes AMI data trustworthy at scale: measurement integrity, verification, and traceability, so insights are based on numbers you can defend.

The Texas city enhances water and electricity services by automating account admin tasks and giving customers cost-saving insights using Oracle Cloud.

When a customer or facility still depends on KYZ pulses, an AMI upgrade can create headaches if the pulse signal disappears.

RADIAN's WPG-1 helps by creating KYZ pulse outputs from AMI meter data, so you can keep pulse-based downstream equipment working without holding back modernization.

⛓️🏗️ Procurement is becoming a grid capacity lever, not just a back-office function.

POWER Magazine argues that procurement is now the utility industry’s “critical capacity builder,” pointing to demand growth projections (+25% by 2030; +78% by 2050 vs. 2023) and constraints like transformer lead times of 2–4 years. The piece also cites rising utility capex ($178B in 2024, projected $220.7B by 2026) and notes data centers could triple energy consumption by 2028 vs. 2023.

When timelines compress, verification can’t. Measurement and test confidence help teams commission faster, document better, and reduce rework.

With electricity demand projected to rise 25% by 2030 and 78% by 2050 from 2023 levels, utilities are facing a perfect storm—aging infrastructure, climate-driven disruptions, and escalating expectations for reliability and resilience. Meeting this moment will require more than incremental improvem...

At the meter site, you’re often chasing wiring issues, CT/PT problems, or load conditions and you need answers fast.

The Powermetrix 6618A supports 3-phase meter site testing and analysis (accuracy checks, wiring verification, vector/harmonic insight) so you can confirm what’s happening and prove it with data.

The Powermetrix 6618A (formerly 6 Series) is a handheld 3-phase meter site tester that automates meter testing, CT/PT ratio, burden, register/demand, and wiring verification, with optional PRM® Bluetooth remote control for accurate, reliable, stable field workflows.

🔗 Test data is only as useful as where it ends up.

When meter test results live in spreadsheets, side databases, or proprietary file formats, your meter data management system is missing pieces. WATT-Net™ closes that gap — bringing shop, lab, and field test data into a single managed environment with documented integration points, role-based access, and audit-ready reporting.

For metering and IT teams alike, that's the difference between ""we have the data"" and ""we can defend the data.""

Learn about WATT-Net™.

WATT-Net™ is modular test and asset management software for electric, water, and gas utilities—centralizing metering asset lifecycle tracking, meter test data, shop/field workflows, mobile apps, and Listener-based integrations to CIS/ERP/AMI systems.

As meter programs scale, throughput is useless if results aren’t defensible.

The WECO 4050X supports high-volume automated testing with integrated accuracy options and repeatable workflows helping reduce variability, strengthen documentation, and improve program confidence.
