Highway Safety Services (HSS), a locally owned fast-growing company serving the Indiana Highway Industry, is seeking an experienced mechanic.
Candidate will perform mechanical services on new and used equipment and vehicles. Candidates responsibilities include testing, repairing, maintaining, and rebuilding equipment and keeping it in good condition. Additional duties include ordering parts, documenting repair and maintenance, and recording the repairs and maintenance. Candidate is responsible for shop housekeeping and properly maintaining company supplied specialty tools.
Knowledge and abilities desired:
Must adhere to safety guidelines.
Strong working knowledge of small engines and simple wiring Ex. trailer lights and truck strobes.
Welding and lite fabrication required.
Must be a motivated self-starter with a proactive attitude toward making improvements in the work process. Should exhibit good problem-solving skills with an ability to identify problems, solicit others’ opinions, and offer valid solutions. Must be able to interpret plans and drawings as well as equipment manuals.
This position is approximately 50 hours a week and is usually 7-5 daily 5 days a week. Some overtime and weekend work occasionally required.
