With the upcoming frigid weather, remember these tips to protect your pipes:

🌡️ Keep your home heat above 50 degrees
💧 Allow Faucet to drip in extreme temps
🚪 Keep interior cabinet doors open
🛠️ Caulk any cracks or holes near pipes
🧣 Apply heating tape
🔥 Add extra insulation

Let’s make 2026 the year we protect our pipes and keep our water clean! Here are 4 simple resolutions you can stick to that make a BIG difference for our wastewater system:

✅ Flush only the 3 P’s: P*e, P**p, and (toilet) Paper
Everything else—wipes, paper towels, feminine products—belongs in the trash. Even “flushable” wipes don’t break down like toilet paper and can cause costly clogs.

✅ Keep fats, oils, and grease out of drains
When grease cools, it hardens and sticks to pipes, creating blockages that lead to backups and expensive repairs. Instead, pour cooled grease into a container and throw it away.

✅ Avoid pouring chemicals down the drain
Harsh cleaners, paints, and automotive fluids can disrupt the treatment process and harm the environment. Take them to a local hazardous waste collection site instead.
