We have a few scattered power outages this morning with the largest being in the flower streets where several large trees have fallen pulling the wiring off the poles. Service will be out there for several hours.

With storms expected in our area tonight, we want to share a quick reminder about power outages.

If your power goes out, there’s no need to call us unless you are the only home or business on your street without power. Our automated equipment alerts us when outages occur and helps our employees locate and prioritize repairs (visit the documents page on our website for more information about how work is prioritized).

Keeping our phone lines open helps ensure we can respond to emergency calls.

Our crews are ready and will begin working on any needed repairs as soon as it’s safe after the storm passes.

We appreciate your patience and support. Stay safe tonight! ⚡🌧️

Residents can expect to see City of LaGrange crews conducting their annual gas survey throughout LaGrange neighborhoods for the next several months. City staff will inspect homeowners’ gas meters and, if warranted, paint them.

The Public Service Commission, or PSC, mandates these meter surveys to identify leaks and inspect equipment for corrosion to ensure the safety of our community and customers.

Crews will be driving a City of LaGrange vehicle, and each employee will be wearing a city uniform. Surveys are expected to be completed in the next three months.

The City is aware that some customers may notice a chlorine-like odor in their water. This is due to very low water levels in West Point Reservoir, which can increase the concentration of naturally occurring organic material in the source water.

Our water treatment team has adjusted the treatment process to address this condition, and crews are actively flushing hydrants throughout the system to increase water flow and improve water quality.

The water remains safe to drink and meets all state and federal standards. We appreciate your patience, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Update on Power Outage:

Tonight's car accident on Vernon Road has broken a pole that carries two separate electrical circuits and disrupted service to numerous side streets out Cameron Mill Road and into town on Vernon. Additional oncall personnel are arriving to assist in the repairs, but the current weather is slowing our progress. We anticipate the pole will be replaced and power restored sometime between 1:00 and 2:00 a.m.

A vehicle accident on Vernon Road has disrupted power to portions of northwest Lagrange. A crew is in route to resolve the problem and restore power. Thanks for your patience.
