Randy M. Goodloe, AIA APAC wants to give the Avery family a very special thank you for allowing our architectural firm to be the architects/designers of this visionary project for Lake Charles and our beautiful lakefront. Working on this project with the Avery’s and their talented team has been both an honor and privilege and we ask the public to patronize this new restaurant and enjoy the food, drinks, unique atmosphere, and the beautiful lakefront views, especially the sunset viewing from the second-floor balcony. A special thank you to Trenton Mays AIA as lead designer and Chris Goodloe, project construction manager, both helped to make this project a huge success.

Respectfully,
Randy M. Goodloe, AIA

As architects, we’re thrilled to see Crying Eagle Brewing - Lakefront taking shape! The integration of the lake view, alongside the revitalization of the surrounding structures, creates an exciting destination for the community. We can’t wait to see this vision come to life!🎉 THE NEW Crying Eagle Brewing - Lakefront COMING THIS SUMMER!

Construction continues Friday afternoon at Crying Eagle Brewing - University's second location — a $12 million investment that will be a family-friendly, full-service restaurant and microbrewery with 12,000 square feet of dining and entertainment space and a lake view. The development is being built alongside the rehabilitated old Harrah’s parking garage and the highly anticipated Port Wonder. (Crystal Stevenson / American Press)

Today, and always, we honor those who answer the call to serve.

We hope to see you this morning as we honor our veterans.

At 10 am, the City of Lake Charles Mayor’s Armed Forces Commission will host the City’s annual Veterans Day Celebration at Veterans Memorial Park, located on Veterans Memorial Parkway.

This year’s program will pay special tribute to female veterans, honoring women who have served, and will feature guest speaker CDR Elizabeth Newton, USCG Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles.

Immediately following the program, a ceremonial groundbreaking will be held for the Louisiana Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The memorial, set to be located inside Veterans Memorial Park, will pay tribute to the 885 Louisiana Vietnam War casualties. This memorial, thanks to recent state legislation sponsored by Senator Jeremy Stine, will be the official and only State of Louisiana Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Additionally, two exhibits, honoring veterans, will be on display at Historic City Hall (1001 Ryan St.) in November. The Daughters of the American Revolution will have a special exhibit on display from November 2 through November 14. The City of Lake Charles, Mayor’s Armed Forces Commission and Historic City Hall will also present a special exhibit titled, “Women Who Served,” honoring Southwest Louisiana’s female veterans. This exhibit will be on display beginning November 1, and will close on November 30. Admission to Historic City Hall is free and hours of operation are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm.

Event sponsors include the City of Lake Charles, Neurosurgery Consultants, L’Auberge Lake Charles, Stockwell Sievert, Lake Charles Toyota, LyondellBasell, Acadian Ambulance Service and Optimum.
