Beyond the Contract — The Commitment It Took to Deliver Berth 8

Some projects test a team’s plans. Others test its resolve.

The Berth 8 Fender System Replacement at the Port of Lake Charles demanded far more than executing a scope of work. It required persistence, problem-solving, coordination, adaptability, and a team committed to finding a path forward when significant challenges arose.

At every turn, the Keiland Construction team stayed focused on the goal: solve the problems, keep the project moving, and deliver.

That meant putting in the long hours, working through obstacles, coordinating closely with project partners, and adapting when conditions required a different approach. Each challenge called for a solution, and each solution brought Berth 8 one step closer to completion.

We’re proud of the men and women whose dedication and extra effort made this project possible. We’re equally proud of the collaboration and relationships that helped deliver an important piece of Southwest Louisiana’s maritime infrastructure.

The challenges were real. The commitment never wavered. The solutions kept coming.

It's exciting to play a part in growth across the region, like the newly opened, 4,000-square-foot tenant office building for the West Cal Port. We were proud to serve as the general contractor for the project, which is designed primarily to accommodate vendors, suppliers, and contractors who work for industry on the west side of the Calcasieu River Waterway.
