Embedded Software Engineer

Role Description

o Design and development of device drivers for Newport Media SoCs and reference embedded platforms.

o Design and development of Mobile TV Middleware , OS Abstraction layers and Mobile TV Software Clients.

o Design and development of 802.11 a/b/g/n software protocol stack features and enhancements.

o Design and development of 802.15 software protocol stack features and enhancements.

o Contribute to different project phases such as SW requirements, HLD/LLD, integration, system test and validation.

o Maintain all Software supporting process such as Configuration management , Change management and Quality management Processes.

o Design and Development of regression test bed/harness for Release integration and verification.

Qualifications and Skills

o B.Sc. of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer and Systems Engineering or Computer Science from a reputable university.

o Solid understanding of ANSI C programming language.

o Solid understanding of Real time operating system concepts and programming.

o Good understanding of Software design methodologies.

o Basic knowledge of microcontrollers and HW interfacing.

o Good knowledge of ARM architecture and assembly.

o Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

o Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl and Tcl/Tk is a plus.

o Experience in Linux device drivers development is a plus.

o Previous background in Embedded SW testing automation is desired.

o Experience with 802.11 a/b/g/n stack development is a plus.

o Experience with 802.15 stack development is a plus.

o Previous experience of working HW debuggers such as JTAG is a plus.

o Previous experience with Software video encoder/decoders is a plus

o Previous experience with instrumentation and code profiling using Logic analyzer is a plus.
