Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be capable of leading projects from start to finish. This role requires a hands-on approach, exceptional craftsmanship, and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople. As a Lead Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all projects meet our high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage carpentry projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.
Fabricate and restore wooden structures, including framing, cabinetry, and trim work.
Delegate tasks to carpenters to maintain efficiency and timeliness.
Execute trim carpentry tasks with precision to enhance the aesthetic appeal of finished spaces.
Conduct heavy lifting as required for materials and equipment during project ex*****on.
Collaborate with sub-contractors for integrated project solutions.
Participate in remodeling projects, transforming spaces according to client specifications.
Conduct material take-offs.
Install doors with accuracy, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
Travel to jobs with a radius of up to 1.5 hours from Lake George, NY.
Take direction from project managers and implement on projects.
Ability to execute tasks from ladders at heights greater than 30'.
Skills
Strong ability to fabricate custom woodwork and restore existing structures effectively.
Expertise in framing and trim carpentry, including installation of moldings, baseboards, and casings.
Capability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily tasks.
Experience in remodeling residential or commercial properties with attention to detail.
Familiarity with metal stud framing processes is an asset.
Proficient in door hanging techniques, ensuring proper fit and operation.
Execute framing carpentry tasks with precision and efficiency to maintain project design and timeline.
Minimum 3 year's experience as a lead carpenter.
Expertise on framing structures off of blueprints without supervision.
