Cold weather is upon us! If you happen to see what seems like smoke coming from your outdoor unit during a cold morning or day, don’t worry! It is just steam that is caused from your outdoor unit defrosting.

During this time, if you have a heat pump, the condensing unit switches over to cool mode, heats the coils outside, and you could possibly feel a little cool air inside due to the cooling of the coils inside. This process only takes a few minutes and is all part of the process. Stay warm out there, temps are starting to drop! Happy New Year!!

We are finally seeing some cooler weather! The first time you run your heat (if you have heat strips) you will smell (and possibly see) a little smoke. Don't be alarmed!! Dust accumulates on the heat strips throughout the year. Once it burns off the dust you should be fine.
