2.3 Ecoboost 904 adapter, tech info and price.

I’ve gotten confident enough with my design to release it to the public so here’s everything you need to regarding this engine and trans package.

Adapter is made out of 3/4” 6061 aluminum, water jet locally here in AZ and final machined in house. The adapter will come with everything you need to install it, bolts, dowel pins, modified JHF pilot adapter. I do not at this current moment offer a converter to include.

This adapter is made for 22 spline, 2.5L 904s. 26 spline/ V6 can be made to work but I do not recommend as you cannot get enough stall speed. My converter setup in mine is a max stall 22 spline, angle mill on the stator and a chromoly input and it is super super driveable, and allows you to brake boost it well. Your flex plate will need to have holes welded and then re drilled for the converter pattern. .095” needs to be added to the mounting pads. I am using a 15-17 6 speed auto flexplate, 18+ is 10 speed auto which I haven’t confirmed if they are the same. Photo 4 shows the 22 spline converter on the left, and 26 on the right. Easiest way to identify is the 26 spline has a small pilot.

SIDE NOTE FOR CONVERTERS: TCS Will not open up a converter that has a saver ring, so an untouched core/no saver ring is required. If this setup proves to be popular I am going to look into selling a complete converter and adapter kit. Billet converters are certainly an option if you want to spend the money.

Photo 5 is crucial to making this system work. Because of how the bolt patterns laid out against each other I wasn’t able to get another bolt using the OEM holes, so there is a provision for an additional bolt that I highly recommend welding a tab onto the bellhousing. If you do not add this, do not be surprised if you blow something up.

Photo 6, there is some casting that needs to get ground flat to get the adapter on there.

This transmission paired with a dry sump offers a super, super low drive train.

Pricing as of today (9/14/22) is $350 + shipping, or I can deliver to WERock events throughout the year. I will have 10 cut, there’s a possibility I can get a couple to Trail Hero in a couple weeks.
