The High Peaks Heat Pumps team has accomplished another feat. Founded in 1884, the Lake Placid Library has a long history of serving the local community and visitors with knowledge and interactive events. It will now also function as a cooling center, providing a vital service to those seeking respite from the summer heat. The library is particularly significant to our family, as Erica, owner of High Peaks Heat Pumps, has many fond memories of visiting her Mim, Therese Kendrick Dixon Patnode, who worked at the library starting in 1968 and took on the role of head librarian in 1972, a position she retained until 2003.
