We want to send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Timmy Lepard. Timmy was a valued employee of this company. He had a strong work ethic and was a person you could depend on. His perseverance was an inspiration to us all.

Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time. May God bring you comfort and peace.

Rest easy, Timmy. We will see you again. Until then, you will be missed!

As we approach the Labor Day weekend, we are thankful for our employees—past and present—that have helped us build the highways, bridges and streets that you will be traveling on this weekend.

This week, our company has seen the loss of two people in our community that has profoundly affected us. One was a former employee and one was the spouse of a current employee. Both were people that could make a person smile without even trying! Both were tragic losses way too soon!

Please remember their families in prayer in the coming days that He will provide comfort and peace for them all! And hug your loved ones. God’s Earth is only temporary, but it is wonderful that He has prepared a permanent everlasting home for us where no sickness or sorrow is present!

And please show your thanks to the men and women who work tirelessly to build your travel lanes by slowing down and having patience. Progress sometimes isn’t pretty, and sometimes it is lengthy. But, when it is finished.....it is so nice!

Simmons Erosion Control, Inc. is amazingly appreciative of our healthcare workers nationwide and here in Mississippi! It has been our pleasure to feed 420 healthcare workers at Lackey Memorial Hospital, Scott Regional Hospital, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Rush Health System, and Anderson Regional Medical Center (which will be fed on Monday).

These HEROES are taking wonderful care of all of us on a daily basis, and we hope that our tokens of appreciation encourage and uplift them!

We challenge all businesses that are active during this crisis to reach out and show appreciation to not only our healthcare heroes but to help meet any needs in their communities that need to be met.

Thank you to the The Garden Patch in Forest, The Ribcage in Morton, The Pig & Pint in Jackson, and Squealer's BBQ, Weidmann's and The Rustlerin Meridian for partnering with us and delivering these individually plated meals.

Our local businesses are the backbone of our economy! We hope everyone continues to support them however possible!

We are in this TOGETHER and only with constant prayer, God’s grace and mercy, kindness and encouragement will we beat this virus.

We are proud to be the contractor for this project that will enhance the daily route of so many residents of Starkville.

Representatives from Mississippi State University, the city of Starkville and Oktibbeha County celebrated the new multiuse path on Locksley Way Tuesday [Oct. 29].
