❤️ Small Business Supporting Small Business ❤️
One thing that's always been important to me is supporting other small businesses whenever I can. We all know how much a recommendation, a share, or a kind review can mean, so when I have a great experience, I like to pass it along.
Last Thursday, our A/C decided it had had enough. 😅 A failed refrigerant line meant we suddenly found ourselves without air conditioning.
Now, if you've ever been in Florida during the summer... you know. 🥵
But don't even get me started on trying to bake during a Florida summer! At one point, I joked that I probably could have baked cookies in my car. (Don't worry... I would never! 😂) I did see plenty of people online trying those "bake it in your car" experiments, though, and it honestly felt like we were getting pretty close.
As a baker, the heat and humidity don't just make things uncomfortable—they can affect ingredients, chocolate, butter, and my ability to keep everything at the quality I expect from Storybook Delights.
After calling around, Speedy Tech Services LLC was the only company willing to come out on Friday when no one else was responding. They're a local, veteran-owned business based in Lakeland, and from the very beginning they treated us like more than just another service call.
Our technician, Dylan, was absolutely wonderful. He took the time to explain everything, answered every question we had, and worked with us to find financing that fit our budget. At one point, the owner even got on the phone to help make sure we had everything we needed. You could tell they genuinely cared about helping us, not just selling us something.
Knowing we'd be without A/C for a few days, they didn't just leave us to figure it out. They brought us a portable A/C unit, and then on the 4th of July they came back with a second one to help keep the house as comfortable as possible while we waited.
Then Monday morning, Russ, Michael, and Samuel showed up bright and early. Three guys came in with one goal—to get us cool again. In less than four hours, they had our entire system replaced and running.
They were professional, efficient, easy to talk to, and incredibly patient... especially with my tiny project manager, Hannah. 😂 She made it her personal mission to check on the progress multiple times, and they were so sweet with her every single time.
Because they responded so quickly, I was able to get back into the kitchen much sooner than expected. I still had to replace a few baking ingredients that didn't survive the extra heat and humidity, but that's a small price to pay compared to what could have happened if we'd been waiting several more days.
One thing I also appreciated is that they don't just handle HVAC. They also offer plumbing and electrical services, which gives me one company I can trust for several things around the house.
Hopefully, the only reason I need to see them again is for routine maintenance... because let's be honest, replacing an entire A/C system isn't exactly something the wallet enjoys. 😅 But when I do need them, I already know exactly who I'm calling.
Thank you, Dylan, Russ, Michael, Samuel, and everyone at Speedy Tech Services, for taking such great care of my family.
Supporting small businesses isn't just about spending money—it's about sharing good experiences and helping great people succeed. If you're looking for a company that truly cares about its customers, I can wholeheartedly recommend them. ❤️
