One of the most satisfying parts of construction (aside from seeing the finished product of course)? When the prep work pays off.

Before installation of the brand-new tellers pod at WSECU, our team worked with casework contractor, IWP, to lay out the pod footprint using a full-size template, allowing us to coordinate every electrical, data, and security conduit ahead of time.

When it arrived on site:
✅Everything lined up perfectly
✅No rework was needed
✅Installation was complete in just hours

We were honored to donate our services to support Neighborhood Clinic in Tacoma, an organization providing free medical care to those who need it most. A simple addition of a new door transformed a storage and waiting area into a fully functional, private space.

With this upgrade, the clinic can now use the room as an office, intake center, or patient room, something that wasn’t possible before due to privacy requirements under HIPAA.

It’s a small change with a meaningful impact, helping expand access to care and better serve the community. Proud to be part of projects that make a difference. 💙

Big concrete day at Viking Cabinets!

A lot goes into a successful pour, and this one was no exception. From the groundwork to the final finish, it takes a coordinated team effort to get 8,300 SF of concrete ready for a Pre-Engineered Metal Building.

Holroyd delivered the concrete, Ralphs Concrete Pumping Inc kept the pour moving smoothly with the pump truck, and K. Kenny Construction brought it all together with a clean, professional finish. Before the pour, the foundation was set with Leonard & Company Contractors excavation and gravel prep, Cruncher Construction Incorporated set the rebar, and Merit set the forms, v***r barrier, and anchor bolts.

Easy as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ... right?

Not quite. This job came with quite a few unforeseen conditions as we began site development. Our team uncovered remnants of a former vehicle washout station—unknown utilities, a buried vault with a pump, a catch basin filled with black water, and a large section of concrete that was an old wash pit.

With careful investigation and problem-solving, Merit Superintendent Jason Fridlund was able to unravel the mystery of these items and remove them to make way for new site finishes and ultimately, a beautiful new Pre-Engineered Metal Building!
