It all began in 1844 when Samuel Stockton White opened up his business in Philadelphia, PA. The endodontist and the restorative dentist are working on the same tooth. They're often not working from the same plan.

Access is the clearest example. A generous access cavity makes canal location easier and treatment faster. It also removes cervical dentin — the exact structure the restoration will depend on for years afterward.
