There has been quite a lot of discussion about our up coming pistol lock and what was actually created and not just a picture. So, I printed one from the 3D CAD files in plastic panted it silver and I have it next to a small Siler. By 3D printing the lock it allows us to double check geometry (no this is not perfect but it sure helps). Also with being able to picture it next to the small Siler (bottom) you can see the size comparison and the differences stylistically.

Here is a photo rendering of our up coming pistol lock. Plate measures 4-1/2” long. (This is “NOT” AI). It’s a rendering of the 3D CAD files that are used to create the G-code that is also used to CNC mill the lock parts.

1740’s Lock update…
We are in the final stages of proving out our process for bending /forging our mainsprings. We plain to bring 4-5 more styles of locks out and will use the same equipment to bend/forge all the different mainsprings.. so with that in mind the tooling made is adjustable per mainspring. So, although it is taking up more time up front.. we figure it better to do it now rather than later or per mainspring.. That being said .. we are just about finished and hope to have mainsprings in the next few weeks which will allow us to start shipping locks.

Flintlock Friday is upon us … Here’s a r***e I built many moons ago.. It’s a contemporary piece heavily influenced by a few VA. Ri**es. Really enjoyed the wire work around the patch box
