Thank you to Senator James Malone for joining us during MANTEC’s MFG U camp. Hosting rising seniors in our shop is one of the best parts of the summer. These students got to see structural fabrication, welding, and pressure vessel work up close, and to hear from the people who do it every day. The trades are a career, not a fallback, and the next generation of fabricators is standing right in front of us.

Ever seen ductwork big enough to walk through?

Our team is building a 110-inch diameter bypass duct for a cement plant: 300 feet of carbon steel, 70 tons in all. When it's installed, the top of the run will sit 200 feet off the ground.

The trickiest part is a fitting called a grasshopper elbow. It's too big to build in one piece, so the crew fabricated it in halves and test-fit them together right here on the shop floor, making sure everything lined up perfectly before it ships to the field.

Fabrication's done and installation is underway. Another one built start to finish by the GSM crew. 🔨

A change at the top at GSM Industrial.

Mike Towers is the new President of GSM Industrial. His father, Jim Towers, grew GSM Industrial out of GSM Roofing and led the company for more than forty years. Mike represents the third generation of family leadership at GSM.

Brian Dombach, who led GSM for more than a decade, has transitioned to Executive Chairman and stays actively involved with the business.

Same shop. Same people. Same standards. Next chapter.

Some of the equipment we build in Lancaster ends up treating wastewater for millions of people.

GSM Industrial fabricates vessels and piping for thermal hydrolysis systems, a wastewater treatment process used at major municipal plants around the world. The technology treats water more efficiently, produces renewable biogas energy, and cuts down on the waste a city has to haul away.

Most people will never see the equipment. They just see cleaner water and the lights stay on.

That is the work we show up for.

A Lancaster company building equipment that ends up in Saudi Arabia and South Korea — that's a good story.

GSM Industrial fabricated two DeDuster® systems for Pelletron Corporation, right here in Lancaster. One got pre-assembled and tested in our shop, then disassembled and shipped to a plastics manufacturer in Saudi Arabia. The other was a first-of-its-kind stainless steel build for Samsung's facility in South Korea — polished to showroom quality, installed without a single issue after delivery.

Michael King of Pelletron put it simply: it was sophisticated work, and GSM showed they were more than capable.

Proud of the team on this one.

Earlier this year we completed fabrication of a full lime slaking system for a municipal water treatment facility in South Dakota ,11 custom stainless steel vessels, 24,000 lbs of material, all built to the customer's exact drawings and delivered in 14 weeks.

The jacketed tanks on this job required 40 PSI pressure testing held for 48 hours each. Every single one passed before it left our shop in Lancaster.
