Everyone budgets for the shop. Almost nobody budgets for what it takes to get there, cleared and graded land, power run to the site, a cured concrete pad, permits pulled, access for equipment, and a finished interior. We plan for all of it from day one.

The best time to build was last spring. The second best time is right now, before permitting and scheduling backs up for the season and every crew in Lane County is booked solid. Concrete needs to cure, framing takes weeks, and inspections don't move any faster because you're in a hurry. Not every hole is just a hole. Most people see an excavator and think we're just moving dirt.
