🔨 Roof Installation Mistakes That Will Cost You Thousands
If you’re getting a new roof soon, you NEED to watch these three videos. Just buying “lifetime” shingles isn’t enough. The installation has to be done right.
In these clips you’ll see:
- Huge gaps (1 inch and even 2 inches) where there should be 6–8 inches of overlap minimum
- Overlaps as small as 1.5", 1.75", 2.5", etc. — all failures waiting to happen
- Why seams that line up too closely are dangerous
- The “seam nail” mistake (nailing on a seam) that lets water sit on the nail head and eventually cause leaks
- Old-school trick: Your utility knife is exactly 6 inches — perfect quick measuring tool on the roof
Water will always find a way in if the shingles aren’t installed to manufacturer specs. Proper overlaps and staggered seams are non-negotiable.
✅ Get quality shingles
✅ Hire experienced roofers who actually follow the rules
Poor installation can void your warranty and lead to expensive repairs down the road.
