The Polar Bear Water Treatment FTE Facility is a state of the art oilfield wastewater treatment and disposal facility. The receiving area of the facility is designed to allow easy access to water trucks offloading produced water and water-based drilling fluids. Trucks enter the facility through a gate in the southeastern portion of the property to approach the unloading tanks. Samples from the trucks are taken before offloading and are centrifuged to determine the percentage of solids in the fluid. Disposal rates are based on the volume of solids in the fluid that is being offloaded. A cleanout station is located near the offloading site for water haulers to rinse out their trucks before returning to customers. After unloading, the trucks exit the facility through a second gate nearby. The facility includes a produced water unloading/condensate loading area, oil/water separation ponds, holding ponds, operator quarters, and a shop/office/ laboratory. The facility is fenced for security and staffed whenever it is in operation for additional security.

Plant operators and supervisory personnel are on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year round. Gates are manually opened at 8:00 AM to allow truck access, and are manually closed and locked at 8:00 PM each day to secure the facility. After hour deliveries are accepted with prior notification from the company or the water hauler by notifying plant operators via the site phone.
