Basic Functions:1) Characterize and calibrate Raman spectrometer surface and in-well logging instruments. 2) Devise, commission and conduct broad range of physicochemical spectroscopy experiments. 3) Prepare and operate Raman spectrometer systems equipment at well site.
Scope of Work: The person hired for this position will perform all necessary steps associated with assembly of Raman spectrometer instruments, characterize instrument performance, and calibrate spectrometer response to certain chemicals. Laboratory work will encompass preparations of various fluids and samples for analysis, including potentially hazardous chemicals, and high pressure and temperature samples to recreate reservoir conditions. Field work will encompass load out preparation, well site deployment, operation and servicing of Raman spectrometers, and validating Raman spectra and other sensor data acquired during well surveys. Technicians will also be expected to assist with compiling laboratory and field operating procedures.
Principal Interactions: Operations, technology manager, research and development team, HSE focal points, and quality assurance department.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in physical, biological sciences, or any engineering discipline and 2+ years hands-on laboratory environment experience required. Clean and valid driving license is essential.
