"One paver patio completely changed how we entertain." 🔥

It started as a dirt lot inside block walls. Uneven, dusty, nowhere to put a chair, and the reason every get-together ended up crowded inside the kitchen while the backyard sat empty.

We excavated and compacted the base, then laid a full paver patio in a warm multi-tone blend and built a custom fire pit right into the center of it. The block work went in course by course, each piece cut and set by hand so the circle sits true and the joints stay tight.

From above you can see what the base work bought them: a flat, level, seamless surface that won't sink, shift or crack the way a slab does.

Now the patio is where everyone ends up, and the fire pit keeps them out there long after the sun drops.

Concrete looks fine the day it's poured. Give it a few years of settling and there's a crack running through it — and you can't fix just the crack. 🏡

That's the part homeowners don't hear until it's too late. With concrete, one bad spot usually means tearing out and repouring the whole piece, and the new pour never quite matches the old one.

"Half our yard was unusable until we did this." 🏡

Before, this stretch behind the house was bare dirt and construction rubble. Every rain turned it to mud, the dogs tracked it inside, and the family walked past it every day pretending it wasn't part of the property.

We cleared it out, graded and compacted the base, set a clean concrete curb along the planter, and laid premium artificial turf edge to edge. Decorative rock and a privacy hedge finished the border so the whole run reads as one intentional space instead of leftover ground.

Now it's the part of the yard the kids actually use. Soft underfoot, dry after a storm, green through a Vegas July with zero watering and nothing to mow.

That's usually how it goes — the space you'd written off is the one with the most left in it.

Hiring the wrong turf company is the kind of mistake you only notice a year later, when the seams are showing, water sits on top after every rinse, and nobody will answer the phone about it.

So before you sign anything, ask four questions.

One, the turf itself. Is it pet friendly? Is it permeable, so water actually drains instead of pooling? And what products are they using underneath it, because the install matters as much as the grass.

Two, are they licensed? Plenty of yards get torn up by crews that are not.

Three, what does the warranty actually cover? Ours is 25 years on the turf and 3 years on labor, in writing.

And four, look them up. Go to Google, go to Yelp, type in Rock N Block, and read what real homeowners in the valley say about the crews, the timeline, and the finished yard.

"This turf pays for itself every time I don't mow the lawn." 🌿

That line came after years of the opposite. A yard that needed mowing every weekend, edging around every tree trunk, brown rings where the sprinklers never quite reached, and a water bill that climbed all summer just to keep the grass alive.

So we replaced the chore with a finished surface. Our crew cut and fit ultra-durable turf tight around the palms by hand, hammered every seam and stake down flush, and worked it right up to the paver edge so there's no lip and no gap for weeds to find.

That hand-fitting is slow work, and it's the reason the lawn still looks this clean years from now instead of fraying at the trunks.
