Our Founder and CEO Doug Poldrugo had the opportunity to visit the Stratolaunch Hangar last week at the Mojave Spaceport, as it prepared for it’s 14th Test Flight and launch of the ROC Carrier aircraft and Talon Hypersonic vehicle. ROC is the largest aircraft ever flown by wingspan, with a payload capacity in excess of 500,000 lbs.

The Talentscale Team has proudly been involved with this historic aircraft through it’s entire life cycle and now into Flight Test. This continues to this day as it begins to approach customer delivery of the Talon Hypersonic vehicles, said Mr. Poldrugo. We began mobilizing Engineers & Designers into Mojave for Scaled Composites while the hangar only contained a duct taped outline of the aircraft fuselage. When you stepped into the hangar you knew our family business was going to play a small but very special role in aviation history. Following the design & engineering phase, we were tasked with providing a large Team of Composite Technicians & Fabricators who performed the build up of the structure, followed by systems integration. Over the last decade, we have employed over 400 production staff across multiple disciplines, supporting all elements of the aircraft’s development. In excess of 50% of this population were also Honorably Discharged Veterans, directly aligning with the core mission & vision of the company. We look forward to the future successes of ROC/Talon and seeing it’s impact across the aerospace industry.

Talentscale would like to welcome Jacob Ellington as a Technical Recruiter. Welcome to the team and Welcome to the Fight!

He brings with him over decade’s worth of professional experience from the United States Marine Corps. In his career as a F/A-18 Power Plant Mechanic, he held numerous roles such as Supervisor, Maintenance Controller, Collateral Duty Inspector, and Quality Assurance Representative essentially making him a subject matter expert regarding his MOS, as well as learned how to motivate and keeps teams of technicians actively engaged to achieve desired goals. When his time in the USMC had come to an end, Jacob initially continued to maintain aircraft engines but felt that his tenacity as a leader was driving him to change career paths. After relocating with his family down the east coast and experiencing the frustrations that come with seeking new job opportunities, Jacob was hired on with Talentscale as a Technical Recruiter. As a Veteran himself, he understands the challenges associated with seeking new careers in the private sector and, as a maintainer at heart, he also comprehends the daily challenges within aviation industry.
