Here are some before & after pics of a Caterpillar 789C haul truck radiator we had in for a complete overhaul. This one came in with heavy fouling externally on the fins. Most of the build-up was petrified mud that was almost like concrete. We gave each folded core a rod & repair after a thorough cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaner. The complete radiator is back in like new condition & it's ready for another round of service.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 18M Grader Blade Hanger we had in for reconditioning. We mount these blade hangers on our Rottler EM105H multipurpose CNC boring and milling machine as it gives us the versatility we need for these unique machining operations. The bores are first machined in the boring operation to make them perfectly round, straight & correctly located. We then weld the oversize bores with our York bore welding fixture. The bores are then final bored, or machined, to the correct specification. The rectangle slots where the blade, or moldboard, slide left & right in come in worn & rolled at the edges. We use a slot cutting feature to machine all three sides of each slot to get the surfaces perfectly flat as well as perfectly square. We then weld the three surfaces of each slot before final machining with our custom made slot cutter tooling. All the bores & surfaces are brought back into spec bringing these heavy duty parts back to like new condition.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 789C folded core radiator we had in for a repair & rebuild. The 789C Radiator has fifty eight individual folded radiator cores. Each core received a rod & repair. Before assembly each individual core was pressure tested to make sure they are leak free before final assembly into the tanks & sideframe assemblies. After the complete radiator was assembled the entire assembly was pressure tested to make sure it is leak free & ready for another round of service.

Here’s some pics of a Caterpillar D10T2 Dozer Ripper Table being machined on our Rottler EM105H Multipurpose CNC boring & milling machine. The bores were worn out-of-round so we machined the bores with the RAD (right angle drive) to get them perfectly straight & round. We then welded the bores with our bore welding fixture & then final bored, or machined, the bores to size. The faces on each side of the bores were also worn so those surfaces had to be built up & machined flat & square.

Here are some pics of a couple of aluminum air & oil coolers we had in for repairing. Both coolers are combination coolers which have a short section of the core that cools air while the larger section of the core cools oil. These coolers are for the compressors on Caterpillar 495, or 7495, shovels. Both coolers were leaking near where the tanks are welded to the cores. We elected to cut portions of the tanks in order to gain access to the leak areas for tig welding. We then tig welded the tanks back up & pressure tested both sections of each cooler at high pressure to ensure they are leak free.

Here’s a few pics of a Caterpillar 6060 shovel radiator & intercooler cooling stack assembly we picked up for repair & rebuilding. The radiator & intercooler, or CAC, are all aluminum. The radiator mounts piggyback to the intercooler & they stand straight up vertically on the back of the shovel. The shovel has two engines so the machine takes two of these cooling stacks. One for each engine.

Here are some pics of a couple of Komatsu 830E-5 haul truck clean emissions modules, or DPF’s. These diesel particulate filters came in for cleaning as they were plugged up with soot & carbon build-up. We cut the stainless steel housings open in order to achieve access to the SCR substrates. We then thermal clean the filters in our oven. We then vacuum & blow out the honeycomb ceramic DPF substrates until we achieve 100% flow through them. Once we do this the diesel particulate filters are then ready to be put back into service. This brings engine performance & output back to 100% & keeps the machine in environmental compliance with regards to the exhaust emissions.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 793C Radiator we’re finishing up repairing & rebuilding. This one came in with a couple leaks in the top tank. We ended machining the blocks that the upper hose connections bolt to off the tank so we could remove all the old weld material. We machined new blocks & welded them in place to the top tank. All sixty folded cores received a rod & repair as well. After a successful pressure test the radiator is ready for another round of service.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar CEM, clean emissions module we cleaned. The CEM is basically a DPF, or diesel particulate filter, like is used on smaller passenger size diesel trucks & vehicles. The ceramic honeycomb type filters are referred to as the SCRs (selective catalytic reduction), DOCs (diesel oxidation catalysts) and they trap the soot & exhaust pollutants which cause ash to build up. This build up chokes airflow & raises the back pressure of the exhaust system. We clean the filters, or substrate, of all the soot & ash to restore airflow which keeps the equipment compliant with emissions regulations.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 789C haul truck, or dump truck, radiator we’re finishing up the repair & rebuild on. All fifty eight of the individual folded radiator cores received a rod & repair. Each radiator core, or section, was then individually pressure tested before being assembled into the tanks & sideframe assemblies. A final pressure test assures the complete radiator is leak free & that it’s ready for another round of service.
