Gas Leak – Columbus

The Mississippi Public Service Commission and Pipeline Safety Division has been notified by Atmos Energy of a natural gas leak discovered today during a routine safety inspection at 142 McCrary Road in Columbus (a commercial strip mall location).

The leak has been classified as a Grade 1, indicating a condition that requires immediate attention. At this time, multiple businesses in the area are being evacuated.

The local fire department has been contacted, and all appropriate emergency procedures are being followed to ensure public safety while repairs are made.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as more information becomes available.
