Laurens Electric Cooperative Women Involved in Rural Electrification WIRE is a statewide community service organization established in 1981 through the Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina, Inc.

WIRE's motto is People Helping People, and to that end members aid victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, and house fires.

A heartfelt thank-you to Laurens Electric Cooperative – Women Involved in Rural Electrification (WIRE) for supporting students in Laurens County School District 55!

WIRE is a charitable group committed to making a difference in our community. WIRE President Jeny Landrith generously donated 42 care bags to support the LCSD 55 McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Program. The donations were received by Mrs. Lynne Todd, LCSD 55 McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Program Coordinator.

We are grateful for WIRE’s generosity and partnership. Community partnerships like this help ensure our students have the support they need to learn, lead, and thrive.

LEC’s WIRE (Women Involved in Rural Electrification) chapter continues to live its “People Helping People” mission. This summer, volunteers joined Cooperative Youth Summit students to pack 500 bags filled with hygiene and essential items for homeless youth across South Carolina. Through year-round fundraising efforts, WIRE also donated 42 bags to Laurens District 55 McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance, helping local students in need.
