A little local recognition for our team.

The cover of this week’s Fort Leavenworth Lamp features our General Superintendent, Caleb Noll, applying the final protective sealer to the permanent bronze bust of Lt. Col. Charity Adams, commander of the historic 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

A big thank you as well to Superintendent Evan Klasinski and crew for their work helping bring this project to completion.

We’re proud to be a part of projects that preserve history and honor those who made a lasting impact.

Fire Station #3 in Leavenworth is getting close!

Our crews have been putting in a lot of hard work on this project, and it’s been great seeing everything finally come together. This one has taken a lot of effort from a lot of good people, and we’re proud of the work that’s going into it.

🚧 Construction Notice – Downtown Leavenworth 🚧

Julius Kaaz Construction Co., Inc. will begin work on ADA ramp improvements throughout downtown Leavenworth starting May 11, 2026.

This project includes replacing and upgrading sidewalk ramps at various intersections to improve accessibility and safety for the community.

⚠️ What to expect:

* Temporary sidewalk closures
* Traffic control in work areas
* Short-term impacts to pedestrian access

We will do our best to maintain access to local businesses and minimize disruptions throughout construction.

We appreciate your patience as we complete these important improvements for the City of Leavenworth.

7th Street Corridor – DONE.

This project consisted of 25 different locations across one of the busiest corridors in the KC-Metro area. We replaced concrete bus pads, shelters, benches, trash cans, and 5 Real Time Arrival units at the Minnesota Transit Center.

Big thanks to KCATA and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County for the partnership.
Appreciate Infinity Sign Systems and Heartland Traffic Services for being great teammates.

And a special shoutout to Joey Noll and crew—you guys flat out moved on this one. This was not an easy project, and you guys got it done!

Congratulations Brian!

Congratulations to Brian Bailey, who has been named Deputy Director of the Leavenworth Parks and Recreation Department. This is a new position for the City of Leavenworth. Bailey will work with Parks and Recreation Director Steve Grant on managing the City's many parks, special events, activities and recreational services.
Bailey was previously the Parks Superintendent for 7 years. In total, Bailey has 15 years of experience in government parks and recreation services. Bailey holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University in Parks, Recreation and Leisure studies. He is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional and a Certified Playground Safety Inspector from the National Recreation and Park Association. Bailey is also a certified arborist and certified pesticide applicator.
