Before ➡️ After

Sometimes the biggest transformations happen without moving a single wall.

This breakfast room had great natural light and beautiful proportions, but the scale of the artwork and furnishings left the space feeling a little unfinished. By layering in larger-scale art, custom drapery, substantial furnishings, and carefully chosen accessories, we created a room that feels more intentional, more balanced, and much more inviting.

One of the things we talk about often is that good design isn’t always about adding more—it’s about adding the right things. The larger artwork helps anchor the wall, the drapery softens the architecture, and the buffet adds both function and presence. Together, they bring warmth, texture, and personality to a space that was already full of potential.

The result is a breakfast room that feels collected, comfortable, and connected to the rest of the home.

Some projects stay with you long after they’re finished.

This living room belongs to a dear friend whose friendship goes all the way back to junior high. We attended different schools, but she welcomed me into her circle of friends, and many of those friendships have lasted a lifetime.

When she asked me to help redesign a few rooms in her home, it felt like a full-circle moment. Together, we incorporated treasured antiques that belonged to her mother and grandmother and created a soft color-drenched look using Thibaut wallpaper and fabric. The result feels layered, collected, and deeply personal—exactly as a home should.

As much as I love the design itself, what makes this project special to me are the memories attached to it. The furniture, the stories, the history, and the friendships that have endured through the years, even when life takes us in different directions.

Today, many of those same friends will gather again as we celebrate the life of someone we loved. It’s a bittersweet reminder that life is precious, friendships are a gift, and the people we share our lives with matter far more than any room we could ever design.

Homes hold our memories. And sometimes, the most beautiful spaces are the ones filled with the people and stories that shaped us.

After a year of planning, this whole-home transformation is officially underway. ✨

What started last June is now becoming reality: a complete downstairs reconfiguration taken back to the shell, expanded living space through a garage conversion, a chef’s kitchen and gathering area designed for entertaining, plus an upstairs bathroom renovation and new flooring throughout. Collaborating with a homeowner who has an interior design background has made the process especially fun, allowing us to thoughtfully blend the home’s character with the way this family lives.

What many people don’t realize is that the planning phase of a project like this often takes as long as, or longer than, the construction itself. Floor plans, selections, budgets, and hundreds of design decisions happen long before the first day on site.

It’s easy to look at a renovation and see the construction. What you don’t see are the months of planning, problem-solving, design meetings, selections, and revisions that make a successful project possible.

This week, all of that preparation became reality.

We’re excited to share the journey as this home is transformed—inside and out.

Before ➡️ After

One of the biggest challenges in a room like this isn’t filling it—it’s getting the scale right.

With soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and a dramatic stone fireplace, this space had a presence from the start. But large rooms can sometimes feel cavernous if the furnishings and accessories don’t hold their own.

To bring the room down to a more comfortable, human scale, we layered in substantial artwork, rich upholstery, woven textures, and thoughtfully curated furnishings. The oversized art draws your eye across the room, balancing the height of the ceilings while adding color and personality. Every piece was selected to complement the architecture without competing with it.

The result is a room that still feels grand, but now it also feels warm, inviting, and connected to the people who live here.

Good architecture creates a beautiful space. Thoughtful design makes it feel like home. ✨

✨ Before → After: The Power of Pattern ✨

Not every transformation requires moving walls or replacing everything in the room.

This bathroom felt clean and functional, but it lacked the personality and charm our client wanted. By introducing a stunning wallpaper, coordinating Thibaut fabric at the tub enclosure, and updated accessories, we completely changed the feeling of the space.

The layered patterns add depth and character, while the lighter palette brightens the room and draws your eye around the space. What was once a fairly ordinary bathroom now feels curated, inviting, and full of personality.

One of the things I love most about design is seeing how a few thoughtful changes can make a room feel entirely different without a full-scale renovation.

Would you be brave enough to bring this much pattern into your bathroom?

Sometimes the smartest renovations aren’t full gut remodels.

This family knew they would likely downsize in the next few years, but they also knew their kitchen needed an update to better fit the market when the time comes. Instead of over-renovating, we focused on making thoughtful changes that improved function, freshened the overall feel, and added long-term appeal… while still allowing them to enjoy the space now.

One of my favorite details? The beautiful faucet we selected for the space. As a member of the Moen Designer Council, I always appreciate products that combine performance, reliability, and timeless style — especially in hardworking spaces like kitchens.

And what made this project extra fun was that one of our clients actually worked for Moen years ago for a short time, so incorporating a Moen fixture into the project felt like a full-circle moment.

The end result feels brighter, cleaner, more current, and ready for whatever season comes next.

From foundation to furnishings, we make it feel like home.

Sometimes the biggest transformation in a remodel isn’t just the room you’re working on… it’s the way the surrounding spaces begin to breathe differently too.

In this project, we removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room to create a more open, functional kitchen layout with better flow for everyday living. But what we love most is how that one structural change completely changed the feeling of the entire main living area.

Now, from the foyer, your eye travels naturally through the dining room and straight into the kitchen — creating connection, light, and openness that simply wasn’t there before. The photo with the deep red wall and china cabinet? That’s the wall we opened up.

And once the walls came down, the foyer quietly got a refresh too with updated paint and lighting that helped the whole space feel cohesive from the moment you walk in.

Good remodels don’t just change one room.
They change how a home feels.

From foundation to furnishings, we make it feel like home.

One of the biggest misconceptions in design is that everything has to “match.”

Truthfully? Some of the most beautiful rooms happen when there’s a little tension… a little contrast… a little bravery.

In this dining room, our client had furnishings that were deeply meaningful to them, so it stayed. Everything else became an opportunity to build around it in a fresh way.

The juxtaposition of the patterned wallcovering, the drapery panels, and the layered rug creates movement, personality, and warmth without feeling chaotic. When patterns share a common thread — whether through color, scale, or tone — they begin to speak the same language.

And then there’s the lighting.

The fixture became the icing on the cake, adding sparkle and balance while giving the entire room a sense of polish and presence.

Don’t be afraid of pattern.Don’t be afraid of color. And definitely don’t be afraid to mix old with new.

That’s where the magic usually happens.

From foundation to furnishings, we make it feel like home.

Forever grateful.🩷
