State Competition for Skills USA starts today! We have won two state titles in a row and are going for a third.

The cell phone policy in Mr. Russ’s classroom is: “It’s the 1980’s”

This means that even during rare times of quiet in my class, they don’t have their phones out, because that’s what the 80’s were like. “What do we do?” They whine. “I believe in you. You will figure something out,” is the answer.

Competition is good. We all need to learn how to win, and how to lose properly. If done properly, a loss can often do much more for us than a win.

These teenagers have their stuff together. If you own a business or do any hiring, you’d be crazy not to hire any one of the kids on our Habitat Dream Team. Christina Shanley here has actually set her sights on being a Construction Manager one day, and she’s definitely doing what it takes to get where she wants to be.
