The highways we drive, the bridges we cross, and the railways that connect our communities didn’t appear overnight. They’re the result of generations of engineering, innovation, and vision.

Did you know?

Utah helped unite the nation when the Golden Spike was driven at Promontory Summit in 1869.

Idaho’s early highway network helped connect communities across rugged mountains and valleys.

North Dakota’s expanding railroad system helped transform the state’s agricultural economy and connect communities across the prairie.

For generations, transportation infrastructure has helped communities grow, stay connected, and create new opportunities. At Civil Science, we’re proud to be part of that continued story helping plan and design the roads, bridges, trails, and transportation systems that communities rely on today and into the future.

What road, bridge, trail, or transportation landmark in Utah, Idaho, or North Dakota stands out to you? Share it in the comments we’d love to hear the stories behind the places that have helped connect your community.
