Yesterday, the staff at PKMR Engineers engineered their perfect swing at Sunflower Hills Golf Course! We shifted our focus from blueprints to fairways for the day, and things looked as bright as the sun was.

Here is how our day tracked:
Structural Integrity: Our swings were structurally sound, but our slices are definitely unapproved field modifications.
Calculated Risks: We kept our eyes on the ball and our calculations precise, though some of our drives are defying gravity in ways physics didn't intend.
Peak Performance: We aimed for under par, but we happily settled for an under-budget golf ball budget by the end of the day.

We couldn't agree more! Working alongside such skilled professionals from every sector of construction to reach a shared goal is truly a pleasure.

The true artists on every construction project are the skilled tradespeople who turn drawings and ideas into something real—and many of them have left their mark on this beam at Pro Deo. 🏗️

To the steel crews, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, HVAC professionals, equipment operators, installers and every skilled laborer working on this project: thank you. Your signatures belong on this beam because your knowledge, craftsmanship, precision and hard work are what make this building possible. The work happening on site—often in the heat, cold, dust and noise—deserves to be seen, valued and celebrated.

From planning and engineering to coordination, scheduling and problem-solving, this project represents the efforts of many talented people working toward one shared goal. Forge Construction, Leigh + O'Kane, Pro Deo Youth Center, PKMR Engineers.

It takes a remarkable team to build a place that will serve our community. We’re proud to work alongside every one of these “artists” and excited to see their collective work take shape at Pro Deo in Lee’s Summit.

Sure, the crowd shrank once the office realized nobody is dethroning Hayden North. Even so, we had to send our interns off right with PKMR's Fastest Engineer race. Huge congrats to our entire podium of three competitors!

We had a blast (and beat the heat!) sponsoring the Annual Mission Southside Charity Golf Tournament yesterday morning. It was a total scorcher, but our amazing summer interns and trusty CAD tech, Paul, stepped up to volunteer. Huge thanks to them for helping get everything set up for a successful day of giving back!

There’s nothing quite like the chance to take down your favorite PM or Principal in an unforgettable paintball showdown! 🎯 The PKMR Engineers crew hit the field last Friday afternoon, and it’s safe to say we had a blast. Huge shoutout to DropZone Paintball Fields Paintball Park for hosting us and keeping the afternoon safe, fun, and incredibly competitive!
