Data center electricity demand grew 17% in 2025. The IEA expects it to double by 2030.

That load runs through physical parts: heat sinks, busbars, connectors, enclosures, transformer housings, and battery enclosures.

One thing we've noticed lately is that data centers are leaning harder on busbars than ever. Switchgear, overhead busway, PDUs, and the racks themselves all use them.

That makes plating a bigger call. Under IEEE C37.20.2, a plated busbar joint can run at 105 °C. Bare copper tops out at 70 °C.

Sometimes, it's one casting waiting on tooling, a single source supplier, a sub-tier process like heat treat or plating, or an engineering change that restarts qualification.

When one part slips six weeks, the whole assembly can slip six weeks.

Factories across Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra can't find enough workers. India has 1.4 billion people.

We've been hearing it from suppliers for months. Energy disruptions explained part of it. Supply normalized, and many workers didn't return.

That changes how we should measure capacity. A shop with 30 CNC machines and labor to reliably run 20 has 20 machines of capacity.

The die cast tool arrived perfect. The die, the mold, the expensive thing everyone tracks — it shows up, runs on day one, but you can't ship a single part. Backorders are piling up, and leadership asks you, " What's the problem?

The problem is that you also need the tools that trim it, hold it, and measure it. That gear usually gets built on the supplier's floor and never makes the transfer list.

There's one thing we do before a tool leaves the old supplier that makes this recoverable. It only works if it happens first.

The die was inspected, reworked, and shipped, and arrives at your factory floor in perfect condition.

The warehouse had a few extra four-legged visitors last week. 🐾

Our team brought their pups in, and they quickly made themselves right at home. A little exploring, a lot of tail wags, and plenty of dog-to-dog introductions made for a pretty great day around here! 🐶❤️

Sit in on a tool transfer review, and it's all engineering. Heat checking, shut height, ejector stroke. The purchasing leader who owns the program sits there as a spectator.

But most of what sinks a transfer isn't engineering. It's commercial — and that half belongs to purchasing.

Clear title. A warranty position on that specific tool. Payment held back until the receiving plant produces approved first articles.

No engineer can put those in place. Only you can.
