Sit in on a tool transfer review, and it's all engineering. Heat checking, shut height, ejector stroke. The purchasing leader who owns the program sits there as a spectator.

But most of what sinks a transfer isn't engineering. It's commercial — and that half belongs to purchasing.

Clear title. A warranty position on that specific tool. Payment held back until the receiving plant produces approved first articles.

No engineer can put those in place. Only you can.

Today's meeting agenda got hijacked by two pups, including a Great Dane who does not understand that he is not a lap dog. Best interruption we've had all week! 🐾 🐶

12 tools, all cleared by their suppliers as ready to ship. All 12 had problems.

Not one had inspection gauges. One would have arrived at a press that couldn't run it.

Each tool ran fine where it sat. That's not the same as running where it's going.

Three days of inspection, one tool at a time. Full findings in the comments. https://mesinc.net/the-tool-is-fine-heres-what-we-found-on-12-of-them/

Somewhere in your organization there's a die that should have moved two years ago. Everyone agrees on the reasons. Someone built the business case. The savings hold up.

Then nothing happens.

Because if the move goes well, the savings disappear into next year's budget. If it goes badly, it goes badly with a name attached. So the tool sits. And it still moves eventually — just on your supplier's date instead of yours.

How to take that decision off one person's shoulders. Check out the link here to read the full blog! https://www.mesinc.net/blog-nobody-gets-promoted-for-moving-a-tool.html

Six parts decide whether a robot ever reaches production.

Actuator housings. Gearbox housings. Structural arms. Base castings. Battery enclosures. Wheel hubs.

Every robot needs them. Not every robot can get them made — reliably, consistently, and at a cost that works at volume.

That's the part nobody puts in the demo video.

Congratulations to our Owner & Founder, Hiten Shah, honored with a Recognition Award at KOJAIN Sammelan 2026 in Parsippany, NJ — for continued dedication, excellence, and positive impact within the KOJAIN community.

Anyone who knows Hiten knows this is simply who he is. Helping people isn't a side project or a line item for him — it's the default setting. The charitable work, the mentoring, the quiet phone calls on someone else's behalf: none of it is for a stage or a plaque. He does it because he can't imagine doing otherwise.

A whole community just said out loud what our team sees every day.

Well earned, Hiten!

Officials have called the U.S.–India trade agreement "99% complete."

The problem is what's in the other 1%.

Tariff rates. Product exclusions. Rules of origin. Effective dates.

In other words — everything that shows up on an invoice.

Three things that are true today:
→ A 10% Section 301 tariff hit many Indian products on July 24.
→ Roughly 55% of Indian exports to the U.S. now carry it.
→ A second Section 301 investigation is still open.

A lot of companies are quoting India as if the deal is already signed.

Anyone can publish a sustainability claim. Fewer let someone else grade it.

MES earned a Bronze EcoVadis Sustainability Rating — 67/100, top 35% of companies assessed globally.

Behind the score: a 54.4% cut in combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions since 2020, market-based Scope 2 down to zero, and five years of energy audits, facility upgrades, and shipment optimization.

For our customers, that shows up as more efficient facilities, better shipment planning, and a supply chain that's ready for whatever sustainability requirements come next.

Engineering gets you to the table. Production gets you into the market.

A buildable robot is one where every part — actuators, gearboxes, castings, enclosures — can be sourced reliably, made consistently, and produced at a cost that works at volume.

MES helps robotics companies work through the decisions that make scaling possible — and build at scale.
