True story.
Got a call today from a homeowner who wanted me to quote a new AC last summer. I gave them my price, they asked me to match a company charging half of what I quoted.
I wouldn’t do it. That company had terrible reviews and I knew why their price was so low.
They went with the cheap guy.
Fast forward to today — unit’s not working and now they’re calling me to come fix it.
I had to be honest with them: you chose to do business with someone else, not me. I wish I could help, but I’m not the cleanup crew for a job I warned you about.
Here’s what I want every homeowner to hear:
You get what you pay for. Every single time.
I’m not the cheapest guy out there. I won’t even try to be. And if a company is willing to undercut everyone by 50%, ask yourself why. Ask yourself if they’ll even be around next summer when something goes wrong.
Don’t make a decision on your AC based on price alone. That “savings” today turns into a headache tomorrow — if that company is even still in business.
Choose the person you trust. Choose the one who’s going to do it right.
