Business Owners, 2019 is a big deadline. If you want to keep driving profit to the bottom line installing Solar can do that for you for the next 25 years. Please pass this long to any friend you know that owns a business.

Your spend 200k on Solar.

You make 300k in profit this year.

You reduce your taxable income by 100k because of the 50% depreciation that you get this year on your solar system. Which means in basic terms, you now owe 25k less on taxes at a 25% tax rate.

Now on your 200k you owe 50k in taxes, the solar you put in gives you a 60k tax credit. So now you owe no federal taxes in 2019. You carry forward a 10k tax credit to next year and the next year you also get to deduct 64k from your gross income because of the 32% depreciation the following year.

The 200k solar project will save the company about 2k a month on electric bills, so each year the companies overall expenses drop by about 24k.

The bottom line is, the biggest advantage you will see in renewable electricity runs out at the end of 2019. The ROI will still be great but the government assistance will be decreasing dramatically year over year after 2019.

The Solar City being sued thing was only a matter of time thing that we in the industry have anticipated. Solar city pays their people very little and uses proprietary equipment that is sub-par except for the power-wall battery.

Solar city has stretched themselves so far that they cant keep up with installs, much less any type of maintenance things. Sometimes the biggest companies are the hardest to work with in the end.
