A small missing piece can lead to a big problem.
This is something we found during a routine maintenance visit.
Notice the missing insulation on the refrigerant line? As cold refrigerant travels through that copper line, moisture from the air can condense on the exposed pipe and drip into the drain pan below.
Over time, that constant dripping can cause the drain pan to rust. Eventually, the rust can eat through the metal and create a pinhole leak that allows water to escape where it shouldn’t.
What starts as a small insulation issue can turn into:
* Rusted drain pans
* Water leaks
* Ceiling stains
* Costly drywall repairs
* Unexpected HVAC repairs
That’s why maintenance isn’t just about checking refrigerant pressures and changing filters. It’s about catching the small issues before they become expensive problems.
This homeowner had no idea there was an issue until we pointed it out.
