My son Samuel got accepted to the Kentucky Farrier School starting next summer, so I'm starting to make some of the tools he will need. I forged these last night. Some farrier style tongs sized for 3/8 stock. All forged to shape out of 9 inches of 5/8 square. I'm definitely not the best at forging tongs (not even close 😆) but I think these will work well for him and save him some money from having to by a set of these.

Getting closer to being done with the 2026 charity auction axe. Last night I got the handle carved, the cutting edges hardened and tempered, one of the cheeks ground and ruff polished for etching, the copper accent rivets set.
