One of the most emotional parts of working with horses is witnessing the comeback moments.

The moments where patience, care, consistency, and support finally come together and a horse begins moving, feeling, and performing like themselves again.
Those stories will always be our favorite ones to watch unfold. 🤍

Do you sweat scrape after hosing your horse in the summer… or let them air dry?

For years, sweat scraping has been standard practice to help remove excess water and heat from the horse’s body after exercise.

But recently, more conversations around thermoregulation and evaporative cooling have horse owners debating whether scraping away moisture too quickly could actually interfere with cooling in certain conditions.

Now we want to know…

TEAM SWEAT SCRAPER or TEAM DRIP DRY? 👇

Navicular syndrome can be a challenging condition to manage in horses, and treatment is rarely a straight line. Every horse responds differently, which is why finding the right plan often requires patience, careful monitoring, and adjustments along the way.

Dr. Amanda Bennett is currently working with Whiskey to develop a treatment approach tailored to her specific needs. Her current plan includes working closely with her farrier on corrective shoeing, administering orthobiologics into the affected joint, and following up with a repeat injection in 4–6 weeks to evaluate her response.

While there is no one-size-fits-all solution for navicular syndrome, having the right team in your corner can make all the difference.

Why do vets flex a horse’s joints during a lameness exam? 👀🐴

Flexion tests are one tool veterinarians use to help evaluate discomfort, stiffness, and potential pain points, but they’re only one piece of the puzzle. Understanding the “why” behind these exams helps owners better support their horse’s long-term soundness and care. ✨

Your horse’s future soundness isn’t decided when they turn 15. It’s built through the small decisions you make every single day. 🐴

From daily movement and correct conditioning, to recovery, nutrition, and regenerative therapies like PRP or ECS, longevity is about supporting the whole horse before major breakdown happens.

The goal isn’t just keeping them “rideable.” It’s helping them stay comfortable, strong, mobile, and happy in their job for as long as possible. ✨

Whether you have a retired partner, weekend warrior, or top performance horse, proactive care matters. At Ardent Equine, we’re passionate about helping horses move and feel their best for years to come
