Company will provide training / OTJ to have candidate become proficient at the testing and maintenance of Substation relays, transformers, LTC’s, switchgear, OCB’s, SF6 breakers, MV disconnects, MV circuit breakers, LV circuit breakers (including retrofits), etc. Testing equipment used will be insulation resistance, TTR, power factor, relay, time travel, secondary injection, hi pot, primary / secondary current injection, etc. Job specific and classroom safety training will be provided.
• Must have technical skills and understand fundamental electrical theory.
• Efficient use of hand tools and power tools required.
• Good mechanical aptitude a definite plus.
• Scheduled maintenance and commissioning outages would often require overtime, off hours, overnight out of town travel in hotels, etc.
• Candidate needs to be a team player with good communication skills.
• Must demonstrate a willingness and desire to learn.
• Computer literacy is required.
• Safety must be adhered to at all times.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
• Must have and maintain a valid / clean drivers license.
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 55 lbs. from ground level to waist high, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam.
• Ability to work regularly in the field which may vary from an outdoor environment exposed to any seasonal elements to inside working space which could vary widely in temperature.
