Tomorrow is National Trails Day. At BETA, our planners, engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects work together with our local communities to plan, design, and deliver trail systems that are accessible, resilient, and built for the future.

We're especially excited to see the World War II Veterans Memorial Trail in Mansfield and Norton featured in the MassTrails10 campaign this year. BETA helped deliver the trail extension, creating new connections for recreation and active transportation while enhancing access to local natural, cultural, and historical resources.

This Pride Month, BETA celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirms our commitment to fostering communities where everyone is treated with respect, dignity, and inclusion. As part of that commitment, we are honored to continue our annual support of The Trevor Project, whose work provides critical crisis intervention and su***de prevention services for LGBTQ+ youth.

Heads up, Bethany residents! If you spot this BETA Group, Inc. vehicle driving around town today and tomorrow — don't be alarmed! Their representative is out on Bethany's roads equipped with special CYVL road data collection technology mounted on the roof of the vehicle.

This high-tech equipment is capturing detailed conditions of our roads as they drive through town. Once complete, BETA will report all of that data back to us so we can identify what needs attention and plan improvements to Bethany's roads.
Better data = better roads!

We’re proud to share that BETA will be working with CTDOT to support a statewide ADA accessibility planning initiative that will help communities across Connecticut improve safety and multimodal transportation network connectivity. This multi-year effort will support municipalities in identifying and removing barriers to accessibility through ADA self-evaluations, transition plans, and assessments focused on pedestrian infrastructure.

We’re excited to be at the 2026 Spring NEARC Conference today, where GIS professionals from across the region are coming together around this year’s theme: GIS for the Common Good.

Earlier this morning, Steavi Swinson and Isaiah Spencer presented on BETA’s Route Optimization Program - including snow/sanding routes, yard waste collection, and street sweeping - and how GIS-driven solutions are helping municipalities modernize their seasonal maintenance operations, improve efficiency, and support smarter decision making.
