A clean shop is a productive shop.

Building a productive shop is a constant goal of ours and it feels like it is always evolving.

We have recently invested a lot in our woodworking end and have a professional grade cabinet shop with a Sawstop cabinet saw setup, a 5 hp 20” helical head planer, a 8” helical head jointer and a bunch of other stationary tools.

Our dust collection system, air compressor, blast cabinet and plate steel storage is tucked away in a fully insulated room, preventing a lot of sound from drowning out the rest of the shop. We have air piped all around the shop to retractable air lines and the dust collection is also piped around the woodworking area to a lot of stationary equipment.

Our mezzanine above our woodworking area doubles as a home for our cnc router and a dust free paint area that we spray latex finishes on our woodworking projects.

We haven’t invested much in the last year with the metal fabrication end of the shop but had brought a lot of metal fab tools in the previous year. We have a a multi process welder, a cnc plasma water table, a 30” 3 in 1 brake, shear and roller and a 60 ton shop press capable of forming 1/4” plate steel at 48” wide.

Above the metal fabrication area is another mezzanine where we store a lot of consumables for our tools and we also store some extra power tools and truck/excavator parts.

One day we are milling out cabinet parts for a kitchen and the next day we could be building a custom steel ski rack.

Some site work prep for a new garage up north!

We cut, stumped and stripped this property at the end of last fall to make way for the structure.

The Cat 313 rental made quick work of this project!

We tried our hand at some deep pour epoxy a few weeks ago. We had some semi rotted, spalted maple log rounds.

We dug out the rot, milled flat, poured and then milled again. We treated these pieces with a few coats of wood wax.

Some pics from a renovation we completed at the Village of Loon.

We built and installed a maple and nickel gap custom built-in bench in the entryway with crown lighting.

Also we built a maple and walnut stair set with under tread lighting and a custom steel handrail.

Ambient lighting at these ski condos is a nice addition to make a cold winter night feel a bit warmer.

CNC cut. Hand finished. Built to last.

This replica sign was carved from ¾” MDO using our CNC router, leaving the horse and lettering raised for bold dimension and natural shadow lines. Every detail was then hand painted to honor the original design while giving it long-term durability.

Proudly built in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Precision meets craftsmanship — and materials that hold up.

A timber frame balcony we rebuilt last year as part of a large rot repair project on a home in

We milled and all the timbers and railings at our shop and match the stain finish. We also installed Maine deck brackets to allow for better air/water flow where the deck attaches to the house.

We also replaced a lot of the wall sheathing and resided the back jog in the house as the rot had spread to a large portion of the back corner of the building.

First of two new ski/snowboard racks for the shuttles.

We designed this rack on our cnc software and tried to optimize the space to hold as many skis and board as possible without obstructing any running/brake lights on the shuttle. We ended up at a rack that can hold 10 pairs of skis and 8 snowboards and only consumed a footprint of about 9 square feet.

Once we had our design, we cut out all of our slots out of 1/8” plate steel on our plasma table. We also burned out the South Peak Resort logo and centered it on our rack.

We bent all our plate steel corners on our press brake for a cleaner finished look and then framed in all our plate steel with 1/4” angle iron to add some rigidity to the rack.

We fit 6” schedule 40 PVC pipes to line the ski slots and we lined the snowboard slots with some thick walled rubber tubing to protect both the racks and the skis and boards.

We sent the rack to get sandblasted and powder coated a textured black to ensure a long lasting and good looking finish.

Pretty stoked with the results… on to the next rack on the other shuttle.

Bathroom Remodel | Forest Ridge

This space got a full upgrade with a custom-built cherry vanity, matching wainscoting + chair rail, and coffered walls trimmed in painted pine for extra dimension. We finished it off with marble tile to bring everything together and elevate the entire room.

Really happy with how this bathroom came out!

Built some metal railings for a project we completed for Riverside Terrace Condo Association in

We templated all the bends in the railing with plywood to follow the contour of the fencing alongside both sides of the trail. We then bent the steel pipe to the correct angles and welded everything up at our shop.

We cut out our mounting brackets on our cnc plasma table and welded those to the railing, painted everything and installed the railings on site.

Everything fit perfect.

Side note: On a project like this it would have definitely been easier to cut the pipe to the contour of the fencing but bending the pipe hides the welds significantly better, feels better to the touch (no sharp angles) and is more of a clean look.

We completed the excavation work for the indoor pool and hot tub at new hotel being built in Lincoln. Pretty cool to be part of a large project like this.

Access was pretty tight and we could only fit our smaller excavator around the steel sub structure. Over excavated for the gunite and rebar and at the deep end the hole was about eight feet deep. Lots of material moved with a small machine but we got it done!

We recently finished a small but complex structural repair job for a local condo association.

We were originally contacted by the HOA to look at replacing a door to a unit’s second floor deck that would not fully shut. Upon diving a bit deeper we began to see signs of some pretty significant settling in the entire structure, as you could actually see bows in both interior and exterior trims

We found the root of the settlement rather quickly, two of the large doug fir 8x8 posts that supported the two stories above had completely rotted away below grade. The original builder had ran these posts all the way down to the concrete slab and then wrapped masonry veneer around the timber itself and instantly began trapping rain water and deteriorating.

We set up large jacks to brace the building and were able to remove the rotted posts. We then were able to progressively lift the entire structure about two inches over the course of a week and installed new doug fir posts with end grain sealer and stretch tape that sat on top of newly poured concrete footings. By having our post sit on top of the footings they’re a lot less prone to future rot damage.

After these posts were installed we then checked to see if we had affected the operation of the door upstairs (the original problem) and to our surprise we were able to open and close the door without issue, saving the HOA from buying an expensive custom door to match.

Lastly our masonary sub, Tash Masonry wrapped the new concrete footings in stone veneer to match the other posts.

We completed replacement of two posts this year and since this problem is endemic, we will eventually be replacing more posts in the future.

Pretty crazy to think of the amount of weight we lifted up and suspended during this project!
