After months of planning and construction, we've officially moved into our new office at 1201 Winterson Rd!

Our new office gives our team more room to collaborate, connect, and continue doing what we do best: engineering great experiences.

Here's to settling in and making new memories in our new space!

This Independence Day is especially meaningful as our nation marks the 250th anniversary of American independence.

For the last 60 years, Mueller has had the privilege of supporting places that preserve, protect, and share chapters of American history spanning centuries.

From sites connected to the legacies of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, to the Josiah Henson Museum and Park, the National Native American Veterans Memorial, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Molina Family Latino Gallery at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, our work has helped support spaces that educate, inspire, and connect us to the stories that have shaped our nation.

This year, we've been honored to contribute to the National Archives Museum Rotunda, providing engineering support for the preservation environment protecting the Emancipation Proclamation and the 19th Amendment. These documents represent pivotal moments in America's ongoing pursuit of freedom and equality.

Engineering often happens behind the scenes, but we're proud to play a role in preserving the places where America's story continues to be told.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at Mueller.

A company's story isn't defined by its successes alone. Sometimes, the most important chapters come from the challenges that force you to decide who you want to be.

Engineering is strongest when it reflects a variety of experiences and ideas.

Today, on International Women in Engineering Day, we're celebrating the women across Mueller who help shape our projects, mentor future professionals, and contribute to the firm's continued success.

Their work and leadership have helped write many of the chapters in Mueller's 60-year story.

Featured in Building Design+Construction, George Mason University’s Fuse at Mason Square incorporates a photovoltaic façade system that generates renewable energy while functioning as part of the building envelope. The system supports the university’s net-zero goals and demonstrates how sustainable design strategies can be integrated directly into a building’s architecture.

Mueller provided electrical and plumbing engineering services for the project and values the opportunity to contribute to a facility advancing innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.

In 1988, Mueller was acquired by a larger national organization.

It was a significant moment of change, bringing new perspectives and new ways of operating. But over time, something began to feel different.

The qualities that had long defined Mueller started to feel harder to maintain within a much larger corporate structure.

The experience ultimately clarified what mattered most.

Mueller's strength had never been about size. It came from the firm's people, culture, long-term relationships, and the ability to approach projects thoughtfully and independently.

In 1992, Mueller returned to independent ownership.

It marked more than a business decision. It was the beginning of a new chapter and a recommitment to the values that continue to shape the firm today.

In the June issue of Plumbing Engineer, Charles Swope, PE, CPD, LEED AP BD+C, examines how layered suppression strategies help protect museum collections from both fire and water damage. Using the Baltimore Museum of Art as a case study, the article highlights the role of wet pip, preaction, and clean agent systems in safeguarding irreplaceable cultural assets.

It's a reminder that engineering for museums is about more than code compliance. It's about preserving collections for future generations.

The transformation of our new office continues.

With the walls now fully framed and rooms clearly defined, it's easier than ever to envision how we'll work in our new space. The kitchen is beginning to come together with cabinetry installed, and the ceiling grid is in place all throughout.

We're counting down the days until we can call this place home.

Few engineering projects support discovery on a global scale. But in the 1980s, Mueller Associates contributed to the design of the Space Telescope Science Institute on The Johns Hopkins University's campus.

The facility would go on to support operations for the Hubble Space Telescope and later, the James Webb Space Telescope.

Designing systems for a facility like this required a different level of reliability. Even minor disruptions could affect critical operations supporting some of the world's most important astronomical research.

Working alongside project partners, Mueller Associates helped develop systems that could maintain stable conditions and support continuous performance.

It remains as one example of how Mueller's work has quietly supported institutions advancing science, research, and discovery.

After more than 45 years at Mueller, Paul Czajkowski, PE, is still closely involved in the day-to-day work of the team.

He regularly works with younger engineers, walking through drawings, reviewing decisions, and explaining how systems come together beyond what's shown on paper.

His experience spans decades of projects and that perspective helps bridge the gap between what's designed and what actually gets built.

At Mueller, learning doesn't happen only through standards and software. It happens through conversations, markups, and shared experience.
