1.3 million views from a single post in a single week. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined our tiny little Snarfinkels would have generated this much attention. The fairytale has become a bit of a nightmare, but we're working through it, one day at a time.
β¨ The Tale of the Little Shop That Grew β
A Snarfinkels Story π°
Once upon a time, in a wee little room measuring just twenty feet by twenty-four, a small Victorian shop opened its doors. πͺ
It had no grand halls. No sweeping staircase. No coffee menu, even β for the lattes had not yet found their home, waiting patiently for a coffee truck still being built. ββ¨
What it had was heart. Copper and gold. The scent of cinnamon and toasted pecans. π And six curious characters watching over the shelves.
Then, one day, a storyteller found them. π
Her name was Tina, of Wanderin Wisconsin, and when she told the tale of this little shop, the whole countryside listened. 1.3 million pairs of eyes, in a single week. Even Tina herself said she'd never seen a story travel so far, so fast. β¨
And so they came. By the hundreds. By the thousands. Through the little door of the wee little room, until the shelves stood bare and the ovens never cooled. π
The bakers quadrupled their bread. The roasters quadrupled their beans. β The chocolatiers quadrupled their chocolates. π« Still, it was not enough.
"We're packing coffee and chocolate and candy until midnight, seven nights a week," said the keepers of the shop, running on four hours' sleep and a great deal of hope. π "We told the same tale to thousands of guests these past two weeks, and we shall tell it once more, for you."
Here is that tale:
All good things come to those who wait. Disneyland, after all, was not built in a day. β¨
What you find today, dear traveler, is not the giant thing you may be picturing. It is small. It is Victorian. It is twenty feet by twenty-four. There is no latte yet β not until the coffee truck rolls up the lane. β
But look beyond the little room, past the hedgerow, and you will see it rising: the Snarfinkels Castle β already under construction, stone by careful stone. π° So fine is the craftsmanship, so rich the detail, that it may be three, even four years before its doors swing open.
Until then, the wee little shop remains the beginning β not the whole story, but the first chapter of something much, much bigger. πβ¨
So to all who've waited outside, to all who've wondered why the doors don't open longer, to all who arrive to find a small room instead of a castle β thank you for your patience. It is what makes the best stories possible. π
Mark your calendars: a pop-up opening awaits on Saturday, August 15th. π But a word of warning to all who travel for this date: the lines will be long, the visit will be rushed. If you are looking for a magical experience, then wait. Wait to come whence the the buzz has settled down. We promise the wait will be worth it. β
And the rest? All good things, to those who wait. β¨
The End... or rather, the beginning. π°β¨
