The worst time to discover a boiler problem? When students and staff are already counting on it for heat.

Before winter settles in, K-12 facility teams should take a close look at boiler safety controls, burner operation, water-side condition, operating pressure and temperature, combustion-air openings, and the pumps and distribution system supporting the building.

Preventive maintenance now can help uncover developing issues before heating demand increases.

Architectural sunshades are used on the exterior of buildings to help control the amount of sunlight entering a building while offering a unique aesthetic design. There are 4 main types of sunshades, each with their own distinctive look and solar benefits. Deciding which sunshade is best for your building depends on your exact needs, but here’s a general rule of thumb.

If your priority is:

Clean, modern architectural appearance -> airfoil sunshades
Maximum directional shading -> eggcrate sunshades
Unique architectural statement -> tubular sunshades
Contemporary, high-impact façade design -> z-blade sunshades
