I found barber‑poling on a 115 kV phase conductor adjacent to the HV yard I was inspecting, always an interesting pattern to find. This was on a transmission tower carrying the hydro station feeds into the utility system. The other two phases were at ambient temperature, but this phase showed a distinct helical heating pattern consistent with uneven strand loading. Did you spot the bird on the wire?

I recently visited the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukie, this is the lubrication chart for 1917, to 1919 Harley Davidson motor cycle. "Proper lubrication of your motorcycle is necessary for continued good service"

"Proper lubrication of your _______________ is necessary for continued good service" - Just place what equipment you rely on day to day in the blank and the statement is true.

Proper lubrication is hit or miss when you visit plant to plant... Lubrication is a science in itself and when done properly your equipment will continue to give you "good service"
