In Virginia, Newport News Public Schools is running more than half of its bus fleet on propane and saving hundreds of thousands of dollars. During the 2025–26 school year, Indiana’s Wa-Nee Community Schools paid an average of $0.99 per gallon for propane autogas. By running nearly half of its 56-bus fleet on propane, the district saves roughly $10,000 for every 30,000 miles driven.

Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs is using propane fuel instead of diesel fuel to transport students to and from school. The conversion of the fleet of 60 buses to propane buses has been in the works since February of 2024. https://bit.ly/4xVxK56

Eric has served as the sole full-time mechanic for Wa-Nee Community Schools in Indiana for over ten years, since becoming the district's first mechanic.
