Coalition of Minority Professional Engineering Societies - Detroit Metro COMPES is comprised of the Detroit NSBE, SHPE, and SWE professional engineering societies and holds

COMPES is comprised of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) in Metro Detroit. COMPES organizes an annual Professional Development Conference (PDC) in the spring and collaborates on other joint activities throughout the year.
